We’ll be crawling through the historic French Quarter starting at 1:00 pm at R-Bar (1431 Royal St.). From R-Bar, we’ll head over to the Balcony Music Club (1331 Decatur St) at 2:30. After BMC the group will head to Turtle Bay (1119 Decatur St) at 3:45. And, from there, to end the Crawl we will head to Molly’s at the Market (1107 Decatur St) at 5:00.

Each bar will be serving the Flambeau Red for $3.00 a pint during the group’s hour there. The crawl will officially end at 6:00 at Molly’s but the NOLA Brew Krewe will be sticking around to enjoy The Krewe du Vieux Parade at 6:30 so feel free to hang out and enjoy a few more beers!

If you didn’t have a chance to enjoy the Flambeau Red Ale last year, you’re in for a treat. Flambeau Red Ale differs from the classic red ale style by the addition of a rich malt bill and hops.

“We feel the hop addition plays well with the mix of pale and dark malts to create balanced, hoppy red ale,” says Kirk Coco, our founder and president.

Our Flambeau Red Ale is a Spring seasonal only, so enjoy it while it’s here.

Here’s where we’ll be heading this weekend:

Happy Holidays! We’ve found that, during the holidays, people spend a lot of time worrying about what wines will pair well with their holiday meals. But, wine isn’t the only thing that pairs well with Turkey, Ham and Sweet Potatoes. This Holiday Season, we urge you to try pairing some NOLA Brew with your favorite Holiday dish!

Blonde Ale – The Blonde Ale is a medium-bodied traditional American blonde ale - golden in color with floral and citrus hop aromas. The Blonde would be great to use to baste a turkey while cooking it and it would give it great flavor. Also would be perfect to pair with the turkey!

Brown Ale – The Brown Ale is a light-bodied, full flavored English dark mild ale with notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and nuts. The Brow is perfect for pairing with sweet potatoes or candied yams.

7 Street Wheat – The 7SW is a filtered wheat ale that is a light-bodied American style with pounds of fresh lemon-basil added after fermentation. The light citrus taste with a hint of spicy herb on the back goes well with almost any seafood dish. And, it pairs very well with ham.

Hopitoulas – The Hopitoulas is a West Coast style India Pale Ale that combines 6 malts and 6 hops with additional dry hopping for three weeks. The Hopitoulas pairs very well with any spicy dish as well as with a deep fried turkey.

Irish Channel Stout – The ICS, the latest of the NOLA Brews, and it is is an American style stout that has sweet malt flavors of caramel and chocolate, complimented by a crisp bitterness produced by roasted barley and American Hops Dessert! We recommend pairing the ICS with a pumpkin pie or anything chocolate.

Happy holidays and enjoy!!

On February 27th, 2009 we kegged 40 barrels of Brown Ale, our first batch of NOLA Brown to send to local bars. Now, over 2 years later, the second of our flagship beers is still a brewery favorite! Living in New Orleans, we like dark beer. That’s why we have crafted what we think is the perfect brown ale to drink all year round!

This light-bodied, full flavored English dark mild ale has notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and nuts. Yum! This brew has a high malt flavor and low hops, it’s a great session beer with a 4.0%ABV and a smooth finish.

NOLA Brewery Brown Ale - Beer Soap For Skin And Hair (photo courtesy of Sweet Olive Soap Works)

We think this malty treat will change your perception of brown ales and have you thirsty for more. Despite its heavier look, NOLA Brown is our “slimmest” brew setting you back only 120 calories per pint – if you’re counting! Some have said NOLA Brown “tastes like a pie crust my grandma used to make.” We’re kind of biased, but we feel the same nostalgia with every drop of this beer. And, if you just can’t live without the sweet, sweet smell of the Brown Ale, have no fear, you can bathe in it!

The NOLA Brown is delicious to drink by itself of course, but it’s also a great ingredient for many recipes. We think some NOLA Brown ale would go well kneaded into this Roasted Garlic Beer Bread! We’re not the only ones that used Brown in recipes either, our friends over at Phil’s Grill created a NOLA Brown shake that is absolutely incredible (if we do say so ourselves.)

Most places that carry NOLA Brewing are sure to have the Brown Ale on tap, check them out here: http://www.nolabrewing.com/find-nola-brews/

What do you think about the Brown Ale? Is it your “go-to” for a celebration? Share your NOLA Brown love with us!

The very first NOLA Brewing creation was the Blonde Ale. The first batches used to develop the recipe for the Blonde Ale were brewed in Brewmaster Peter Caddoo’s backyard on his home brew equipment. Boy, have we come a long way! Originally released in March 2009, today it is our most popular and most widely distributed beer. If you are just getting into drinking craft beer, it’s a perfect beer to get your feet wet.

NOLA Blonde is a medium-bodied traditional American blonde ale. Golden in color, it has floral and citrus hop aromas. Not one of the most potent of potions in the craft beer world, as it contains 4.90% ABV but definitely an excellent lighter bodied beer with lots of flavor! Some have said NOLA Blonde, “goes down like water.” We’re a little biased, but we agree. It’s great for everyday drinking but particularly refreshing and delicious during the summer months!

The NOLA Blonde Ale is delicious accompanying most any meal but we think it is especially delicious with seafood! It’s also great to cook with. Check out this recipe for Coconut Beer Shrimp, and use our Blonde Ale in the batter.

Most places that carry NOLA Brewing are sure to have the Blonde Ale on tap, as we said before it is one of our most widely distributed beers, check them out here: http://www.nolabrewing.com/find-nola-brews/

What do you guys think of our NOLA Blonde Ale? Have any recipes or pairings? We’d love for you to share them with us!
